Numbers 33:48-56 GXV translation of the LXX May 21, 2023 καὶ ἀπῆραν ἀπὸ ὀρ[ί/έ]ων Αβαριμ, καὶ παρενέβαλον ἐπὶ δυσμῶν Μωαβ, ἐπὶ τοῦ Ιορδάνου κατὰ Ιεριχω. And [they departed from] [the] borders [of] Abarim, and [they encamped] [at the points of setting / west of] Moab, near the Jordan [down (south of?) / against] Jericho. And [they encamped] alongside the Jordan [in the midland of] Aisimoath, [until / while] Abelsatim [was] [down (south of?) / against] [at the points of setting / west of] Moab. καὶ ἐλάλησε[ν] κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἐπὶ δυσμῶν Μωαβ παρὰ τὸν Ιορδάνην κατὰ Ιεριχω, λέγων, And Lord spoke to Moses near [the] [at the points of setting / west of] Moab alongside the Jordan [down (south of?) / against] Jericho, saying, λάλησον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ, καὶ ἐρεῖς πρὸς αὐτούς, ὑμεῖς διαβαίνετε τὸν Ιορδάνην εἰς γῆν Χανααν, speak to the sons of Israel, and [you will say] to them, [you-all] are passing over the Jordan into [the] land [of] Canaan, καὶ ἀπολεῖτε πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν τῇ γῇ πρὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν, καὶ ἐξαρεῖτε τὰς σκοπιὰς αὐτῶν, καὶ πάντα τὰ εἴδωλα τὰ χ[ο/ω]νευτὰ αὐτῶν ἀπολεῖτε αὐτὰ, καὶ πάσας τὰς στήλας αὐτῶν ἐξαρεῖτε, and [you-all will utterly destroy / kill / slay] all the inhabitants in the land before [the] face [of you-all], and [you-all will remove / lift away / get rid of] their [lookout-places / hill-tops], and [you-all will utterly demolish] all their molten idols, and [you-all will remove / lift away / get rid of] all their [stone monuments], καὶ ἀπολεῖτε [πάντας] τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν, καὶ κατοικήσετε ἐν αὐτῇ. ὑμῖν γὰρ δέδωκα τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν ἐν κλήρῳ. and [you-all will utterly destroy / kill / slay] [all] who inhabit the land, and [you-all will inhabit] in it. For [I have granted] [to you-all] the land in an allotment. And [you-all will inherit] [their] land in an allotment according to your [(plural)] tribes, for the larger [you-all may increase] their possession, and for the smaller [you-all will lessen] their possession, to whomever his name may come out, there his [will be for himself], according to your patrimonial tribes [you-all will inherit a portion]. But if [you-all may not utterly destroy / kill / slay] the inhabitants on the land from [the] face [of you-all], and [it will be for itself] whosoever [you-all may leave behind] out of theirs, thorns in your eyes, and javelins in your ribs, and [they will be at enmity with] [you-all] on the land, on which you-all [will inhabit]. καὶ ἔσται καθότι διεγνώκειν ποιῆσαι αὐτούς ποιήσω ὑμῖν. And [it will be for itself] [in what manner] [I had distinguished / I had resolved to do/make/happen] ... them [I will distinguish / resolve / do / make / happen] [to you-all]. -- And they departed from the borders of Abarim, and they encamped west of Moab, near the Jordan against Jericho. And they encamped alongside the Jordan in the Aisimoath midland, until Abelsatim was against the west of Moab. And Lord spoke to Moses near the west of Moab alongside the Jordan against Jericho, saying, Speak to the sons of Israel, and you will say to them, you-all are passing over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, And you-all will utterly kill all the inhabitants in the land before your face, and you-all will get rid of their hilltops, and you-all will utterly demolish all their molten idols, and you-all will get rid of all their stone monuments, And you-all will utterly kill all who inhabit the land, and you-all will settle in it. For I have granted to you-all the land in an allotment. And you-all will inherit their land in an allotment according to your tribes: for the larger you-all may increase their possession, and for the smaller you-all will lessen their possession; to whomever his name may come out, there his will be for himself; according to your patrimonial tribes you-all will inherit a portion. But if you-all may not utterly kill the inhabitants on the land from your face, then it will be for itself that whosoever out of theirs you-all may leave behind will be thorns in your eyes* and javelins in your ribs*, and they will be at enmity with you-all on the land on which you-all will inhabit. And it will be for itself that in what manner I had resolved to do to them I will do to you-all.** * prophetic for the crown of thorns and spear in Christ's side. -- Note that the text lacks the imperative command. According to the CP's LXX, God did not command his people to kill all the Satanic Canaanites and completely destroy all their idols. But because they did not do that, the entire world has suffered incalculable misery for millennia. Note that the wording God uses does not allow for the possibility that repentance and forgiveness could happen. Is it because they are cursed to death because of their excessive evils contrary to conscience? ** And failing to kill all the Satanic Canaanites in a land leads to God deciding to punish all the inhabitants of that land as if they were Satanists. This is why people complain that "if God is real, why does he allow bad things to happen all the time?" It's because he is allowing your people to face the same Hell that the Satanists will be given, because you did not kill all the Satanists in your land. Simple. If you sleep with dogs, you get fleas. If you get a parasitic infection, you had better destroy that parasite, whose way of living is to destroy your body, or else it will destroy your body. And how much more valuable is human life than a parasite's life! Should all life on earth be condemned to become Satanic and be eternally punished and destroyed by God because nobody with a conscience wants to punish an evildoer?
